Santomo presented and exhibited a booth on our biomass and BaaS projects at the 13th Asia Smart City Conference (ASCC).

Santomo Resources Corporation (Head Office: Tokyo; President: Tomoichi Yamaguchi; hereinafter “Santomo”) participated in the session titled “Reverse Pitches by Asian cities / Pitches by Japanese businesses -Business matching to solve urban issues-” at the 13th Asia Smart City Conference held in Yokohama on October 23-24th, 2024.

In this session, based on the urban issues faced by various Asian cities, Santomo’s Yokohama branch manager, Yuki Horikoshi (far right in the thumbnail image), presented on our biomass and BaaS (Battery As A Service) projects.

Additionally, we exhibited a booth at the conference venue.

With PT Santomo Biomass Indonesia’s Business Development Manager, Eko Wahyu Saputro, and Tomoko Yamaguchi, Santomo’s Kyushu branch manager, the three actively exchanged information with various attendees over the two-day event.

In our biomass business, we handle and produce exports, domestic supplies, and product development of abundant palm residues such as PKS, EFB, and OPT generated in Indonesia, as well as agricultural residues like wood pellets and rice husk pellets. Beyond Indonesia, we aim to build a cooperative biomass supply framework across Asia, including Thailand and Vietnam.

In the BaaS business, we are expanding our efforts not only in the battery-swappable electric motorcycle business, but also in the used batteries using green electricity generated by solar power generation. We aim to provide one-stop solutions for a circular economy and a decarbonized society.
